Silver + Blue Angles

Hey everyone!
I thought I would show you an outfit with some of my favourite old and new pieces. I'm so into this gorgeous blue coat which was made by my friend's grandmother. I know - amazing. It reminds me of Audrey Hepburn's style in the 1950s. I also love thrift shopping and wanted to showcase some thrifted pieces. You never know what treasure you'll find!

Coat - Handmade
Top - Seed (thrifted)
Skirt - Equipment (thrifted)
Boots - Kurt Geiger
Bag - Hand-me-down
Sunglasses - ASOS
Rings - Hand-me-down
Earrings - Lovisa

Video: Collective Thrift Haul

I just love a good trip to the thrift store! With a bit of patience and optimism, you can hit upon a trove of treasures, usually consisting of clothing and accessories, in my case. It was definitely encouraging to see Steph and Melissa from the Fashion Citizen on YouTube (@fashion_citizen) make thrifting look like an art. I like to try my hand at it from time to time and was very lucky to find some nice things. I recommend checking out your local thrift store or op shop next time you're on the look-out for something specific or just fun. Buying preloved items is better for the environment than new clothes and it's cheaper, too. Just bring a discerning eye - or friend.

Kelsey's website clearly demonstrates her whimsy and aptitude for watercolours. I love how relaxed her (often female) characters seem. Iced tea and Vogue just got even cooler.

« Du cœur sensible de la femme jaillit le bonheur de l’humanité »

- Khalil Gibran. I first saw this quotation projected on the wall of the Saint-Germain metro station in Paris in February 2010. It was there as a part of the annual Parisian cultural initiative Le Printemps des Poètes
« La femme est libre au moment qu’elle veut l’être. »

Adaptée d’une citation de Voltaire : « L'homme est libre au moment qu'il veut l'être. » (Brutus, acte II, scène I : 1730). Translation: "The woman is free the moment she wants to be."
Well I love you baby
But you've gotta understand
When the Lord made me
He made a ramblin' woman..

Lyrics to Cat Power's "Ramblin' (Wo)man" (cover of Hank Williams' "Ramblin' Man), from the 2008 covers record Jukebox. An amazing record and an amazing woman.
